To ensure you know your rights and responsibilities when joining a sports club it is important that you read and understand this Terms and Conditions
1. Principle Terms
This Agreement commences once you have signed the membership form either in hard copy or online.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply at all times to the terms of this Agreement and
the disciplinary policy outlined by the club Chocolate Soldiers.
Membership does not guarantee you a place in the events as you still need to RSVP your attendance.
2. Membership Fees and Charges
The member shall pay the club via bank transfer or cash.
3. Renewal of membership
The membership runs from the moment you apply. A weekly fee is payable at the start of each membership.
The member is responsible to renew his membership. Once you sent the payment for renewal he must notify the club via email firstname.lastname@example.org
4. Freezing your membership
The freezing or suspension of membership is at the manager’s discretion and will only be considered in the event of illness or injury. Membership is non-transferable and non-refundable. Membership begins immediately on the same day listed as “Starting Date” and shall expire automatically on the same day listed as” Ending Date”. Members electing to renew their membership can pay to renew their membership before” Ending Date”.
5. Canceling your Membership
No cancellation or refund will be accepted.
7. All members and guests
Must have RSVP and paid before attending the venue.
8. Social Etiquette
Chocolate Soldiers Badminton Club operates within a positive atmosphere of respect and good sportsmanship. Thus all members and guests are expected to exercise proper social etiquette on our premises and to respect the court time allowed for games and to leave your court promptly after the game. If the shuttlecock is still in a good condition leave it in the middle of the court for the next game.
Players are asked to enter into their game as soon as possible in order to enable the maximum number of games to be played during each club session.
Players are asked to vacate the court after their game as finished in order to enable the next game to start as quickly as possible.
Players are asked not to walk onto or near the court on which a game is being played.
Players shall be considerate to their surroundings and take away any litter that may be left behind in the sports hall after each Club session.
Chewing gum, sweets and food of any kind are not allowed in the sports hall.
9. Sportswear and Equipment
All members and guests attending the event must change into appropriate sporting attire and must wear suitable non-marking indoor footwear before entering the court. Protective glasses are strongly recommended. No black or dark-soled shoes or shoes that have been worn outside are allowed on the court.
Shuttlecocks shall be provided by Chocolate Soldiers Badminton Club and shall generally be proprietary feather shuttlecocks.
All players shall provide their own racquets. Nets, posts and courts are provided on hire from the sports hall, as provided by the Club.
Players are advised to wear lightweight clothing appropriate to playing an active sport and have additional clothing available to maintain body heat between games if required..
10. During the Event
Members and guests are expected to behave in a sensible and responsible manner. Chocolate Soldiers Badminton Club is not responsible and can’t be held liable for any injury to any individuals, members or guests. Everyone must treat all equipment provided with care and respect and to make sure court is clean and free of obstruction before exiting the court. The Club reserves the right to deny access and eject from the premises anyone who uses profanity, exhibits disruptive behaviour, conducts illegal activity and/or harassment of any form, or violates chocolate soldier’s terms and conditions. Any damaged equipment must be replaced by the responsible individual(s). The Club should not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items during the event, or for any loss or damage to participants.
11. Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives of the club will be to:
- Play and promote badminton within the local community
- Offer badminton coaching and competition opportunities to all members and guests
- Provide duty of care and protection to all members and guests
- To make sure all club members and guests are treated equitably and fairly
12. EQUALITY POLICY STATEMENT
Chocolate Soldiers club is committed to ensuring that equality and diversity is incorporated across all aspects of its development
- The club respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally and fairly, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status.
- The club believes everyone has the right to enjoy badminton in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse.
- All club members have a responsibility to challenge discriminatory behaviour and promote equality and diversity.
13. League and Friendly Matches
Members taking part in league and friendly matches shall pay a match fee for home and away matches at an amount as shall be agreed from time to time by the Management Committee. And Guests or members who play leagues must pay a league a fee to badminton England.
14. Photography & Filming
No photography is permitted in the changing rooms. Elsewhere in the Centre, please ensure you have the consent of all users before using filming equipment, including camera-phones.
15. The Club is Affiliated to Badminton England
The club is affiliated to Badminton England and thereby will have the appropriate Public Liability Insurance in place.
IMPORTANT – USE OF YOUR INFORMATION DATA PROTECTION
We may use your personal data to contact you regarding your membership within a sports club. We may also use CCTV to monitor our venues for security purposes. You consent to have
your photograph taken for identification via our database. Information about Club members, provided on the Club membership form to the Committee may be held on our database.
Our data collection and storage is governed by the rules of the UK Data Protection Act and associated legislation. Members who wish to view their records should contact a member of the Committee.
